HELPLINE enquiries are generally monitored by our volunteer team during the hours of 10am-4pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays only, excluding public holidays. We will respond to your enquiry as quickly as possible. Our aim is to reply in full within one week from when your enquiry is monitored but please bear with us if delays are experienced during especially busy times.

Please also be aware that we can only respond to queries either via calls to our telephone helpline or email.  We are not able to provide a callback service at this time.

Our Helpline service is offered by the Noise Abatement Society charity as a voluntary public service and supported solely by voluntary donations. We understand how distressing noise pollution can be and want you to get access to the appropriate support as quickly as possible. If a swifter response is required than we are able to offer at this time, we would kindly refer you to your local Citizens Advice Bureau at https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/, and also your local council’s website regarding making a noise complaint (please note that this process is similar across all councils, but individual variations may apply).

If you are unsure who your local authority is, you may find out at: https://www.gov.uk/report-noise-pollution-to-council

More information about how local authorities deal with noise complaints can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/noise-nuisances-how-councils-deal-with-complaints, and also on your local authority’s website.

More information on reporting anti-social behaviour and noise can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/report-crime-anti-social-behaviour

If you require legal advice, we would kindly refer you to the Law Works at https://www.lawworks.org.uk/
